A story of sustainability to learn how to make coffee, making coffee.
At Lavazza, we are driven by a strong sense of responsibility towards all the communities in which we operate. For this reason, we have devised a program of activities to involve all members to create shared values and generate a positive impact on a social, economic and environmental level.
An example is coffee learning by doing. What is it about?
The Learning by doing project aims to provide farmers with an understanding of how to improve coffee production and quality sustainably by improving production and farm management.
Just think that in Ethiopia, coffee producers find themselves having to face many problems related to the low standard of living of families, the individual development of agricultural activity and the sustainable use of natural resources.
In addition to this, there is market inefficiency and a shortage of storage tools at their disposal. Therefore, Lavazza supports Ethiopian coffee producers in learning the production and management techniques that are best suited to the context, to truly grow together. And to do this, we use the Farmer Field School approach, an experiential methodology that allows farmers to understand how to improve coffee production and quality sustainably.
Working together for the well-being of the communities and to have an even better coffee.
