Lavazza and Save the Children to change the future of young people living in disadvantaged neighbourhoods.
Lavazza took the field alongside Save the Children to help the young people who live in the slums in Calcutta.
The great metropolis has about 20 million inhabitants with many teenagers and the vast majority living in the three thousand slums that extend for about 185 km.
These are realities populated by humanity without rights and an unlikely misery.
Therefore, Lavazza has joined forces with Save the Children to try to give a future to the young people who live in these realities.
Lavazza is committed to creating opportunities for the most marginalised adolescents in degraded areas, redeeming them from situations of abuse and exploitation to integrate them into the world of work in a sustainable way.
The project has made it possible to reach over 101 vulnerable adolescents and offer 240 hours of training and subsequent support for entering the working world.
In addition, in October 2017 Lavazza made its trainers available to teach the young beneficiaries of the project the basic techniques to become baristas and learn more about the world of coffee.
The objectives were to offer professional training to 100 marginalised adolescents in Calcutta between the ages of 17 and 20 and supporting beneficiary adolescents to enter the working world.
